Following the application of the adhesive, the material generally runs beneath a bank of UV lamps. This is where the cross-linking of the adhesive happens.
During the curing process, it is important that the adhesive receives the correct UV dosage. This is normally measured in millijoules per square centimeter (mJ/ cm2).
UV lamp systems monitor their output and increase or decrease the power output proportionally to the web speed which ensures the correct curing of the adhesive.
